| Lampi or Lambi beach is not really a resort in its own right more an overflow beach for Kos Town. So with this locality finding accommodation won’t be a problem. It lies just west of the main town across the headland, if you like to walk its close enough to do so, there again hire a bicycle or catch the frequent bus.
As the beach is so close to town it is becoming increasingly crowded. With its golden sand and length of over a 1km it’s very popular. It’s ideal for younger children being very shallow water; however with the deep trench offshore the big boats which pass create quite high waves. So don’t leave your children unattended in the water. The beach being on the north side of Kos has to contend with the Meltemi winds but in the height of summer this might well be a bonus. The beach is well organised with plenty of sun beds, brollies, the usual water sport’s, has well as snack bars and coffee shops in which to wet your whistle. If you’re staying in Kos Town try to head back around 7pm any later and you’ll run into major traffic, as the rest of the Island descends for the nightlife Kos Town offers. The choice of hotels here are endless with Lampi being at one end of Kos Town harbour so stick a pin in the map and enjoy your hols. |
