 AGIOS GEORGIOS (South) - SAND - BLUE FLAG - SHALLOW WATER NEAR THE SHORE
There are 5km of lovely sandy beach at Agios Georgios which is situated on the south-west coast. They are surrounded by olive groves, and reached by a narrow country lane off the main road. Almost untouched by commercialism. This is a great place for those looking for sunshine and uncrowded beaches.
They are good for children as the swimming is safe and there is little road traffic. Both beaches are wide and sandy with sun beds and parasols. One of them has sand dunes but there is very little shade.
The resort is perfect for families, young people as well as senior citizens.
There are studios, rooms and apartments for rent and one hotel complex as well as a few local tavernas, a few shops and a couple of music bars.
How to get there:
1. The green Buses which leaving from Saroco square every hour.
2. With the car in less than an hour, from the center of Corfu town.
Transfer time is 1hr 20 minutes (coach) or 40 minutes (taxi). |
